Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its result. Burt County Court Docket does not retain or log search terms entered through those tools.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to the site is kept so a response can be provided. The message remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by a legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, technical information about the visit may be collected by the server:
- The IP address associated with the device
- The browser and its version
- The device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and the time spent on each
- The referring site, when one is available
- Timestamps for page views
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files stored on a device. They help measure site use, including pages that receive traffic and places where visitors leave. Analytics services aggregate that traffic information. Browser settings can block cookies, although parts of the site may work differently when cookies are blocked.
What We Do With This Data
Collected information supports routine operation and improvement of the service. It may be used for:
- Keeping the site available and responsive
- Routing search requests to the appropriate partner service
- Assessing which pages are useful and which need improvement
- Identifying and resolving technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
Burt County Court Docket does not host, keep, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case-record data. It provides general information about where Burt County records are held and how they may be requested from the responsible clerk, trial court, or statewide case-search system. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or records about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search tools on the site are operated by outside companies. Information entered into a tool is handled under that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Those providers control their own retention and sharing practices. Review the applicable provider policy before submitting a search.
Links to Other Websites
The site links to clerk pages, trial-court portals, statewide case-search services, legal-aid resources, and outside search tools. Following a link leaves Burt County Court Docket, and the destination's privacy policy governs that visit. Read that policy before providing personal information.
Some advertising partners may track activity across websites to deliver targeted advertisements. That activity occurs through their own systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information can be disclosed to the following recipients when applicable:
- Search partners that process a query submitted through the site
- Analytics providers used for traffic and performance measurement
- Advertising networks that place advertisements on the pages
- Law-enforcement or government authorities when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet-connected system can promise complete security, however, so a breach can never be ruled out.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If a minor has provided information, contact the site so it can be deleted.
Your Data Rights
No specific Nebraska consumer-privacy statute is asserted in this policy. General controls are available through a request to the site, subject to applicable law and operational limits. A visitor may:
- Ask for a copy of information held about that visitor
- Ask to correct information that is inaccurate
- Request deletion of visitor information
- Ask to opt out of certain processing where that option is available
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised in the future. A revised version will appear here with a new effective date for visitors who wish to review current practices.
Effective date: August 29, 2026
